Jennifer Harge is a performer, art maker, and educator. Trained as a modern dancer, Harge’s work lies at the intersection of movement, performance art, African American culture, and choreographies of protest. Her creative work has been made for both site specific and proscenium stage performances--most recently at Detroit Institute of Arts, Music Hall Center for Performing Arts, Standard ToyKraft (NYC), and in her grandmother’s basement. In 2014 she created a dance collective, Harge Dance Stories, to investigate the intersection of black bodies/stories and experimental dance making. The collective has been in residence at The Carr Center in Detroit and continues to construct the (her)stor(ies) project--a dance-theater work emphasizing the politics of the black female body. She holds a MFA from University of Iowa as a Dean’s Graduate Fellow and a BFA from University of Michigan. Harge currently holds lecturer appointments at Oakland University and University of Michigan.
Duane Lee Holland, Jr. began his career as a gymnast as a member of the Jr. National Team. He competed in the 1991 Jr. Pan-American Games, 1993 and 1994 Portugal Invitational, USA vs. Mexico dual and 1991 McDonald's International Mixed Pairs. Duane began his professional dance career at the age of 17 with Rennie Harris Puremovement (RHPM), where he was named Assistant Artistic Director in 2008. While performing with RHPM, he also taught at MIT, Stanford University, Jacobs Pillow, University of Utah, UCLA, Monte Carlo Ballet Company, Pennsylvania Ballet Company, Philadanco, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and Broadway Dance Center. Duane has had the privilege of working for Ronald K. Brown/Evidence, The Lion King (Original Broadway cast), A Few Good Men, and was assistant choreographer, assistant dance captain and featured dancer of Maurice Hines' Broadway production of "Hot Feet." He is currently conducting community outreach programs with his Arts & Education organization CRĀV (Cultivating Revolutionary Artistic Virtuosity), in the suburban Philadelphia area, as well as in conjunction with select universities across the nation. In 2015 Duane graduated Magna Cum-Laude from the University of Iowa with a Master of Fine Arts in Dance with a focus in Choreography. Duane is currently on faculty at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee as their first Hip-Hop full-time faculty member.
