I've been a friend of the Duke Dance Program for over thirty years. I'm truly honored to have been given the opportunity to dance in such an amazing program through the years. The care and nurturing I receive from wonderfully talented and passionate faculty helped me find the true love and passion to become who I am today as a dancer/choreographer in the community. I'm humbly grateful and filled with gratitude to be a part of such a loving, caring dance community that sets such great high standards.
During those years, I've seen as well as experienced the program’s transition from being a part of the Physical Education Department to one of the best dance programs in the country where students can get a Major or Minor in dance. My hat goes off to the many and wonderfully talented and passionate faculty who worked diligently to make that happen: Julia Wray, Barbara Dickinson, M'Liss Dorrance, Chuck Davis, Clay Taliaferro, John Hanks, Keval Khalsa, Ava LaVonne Vinesett, Rebecca Hutchins, Julie and Tyler Walters, Andrea Woods Valdés, and the many students and visiting artists.
