Career aspirations: In the fall, I will be continuing on to complete a master's in civil engineering at Northwestern University and would like to be a freelance choreographer in my free time.
Favorite memories: Performing my self-choreographed piece entitled "Young, Gifted and Black" on the Reynolds Theater stage. It was my first time performing in a solo piece and I was honored to have the opportunity to share my story through movement in front of an audience.
I’d like to thank Professors Valdés and DeFrantz.
“Within the Dance Department, I've had the opportunity to experiment beyond prior training, to choreograph pieces of self-realization, to learn the origin stories of various movements, and so much more. The Dance Program has allowed me to work in the technical mindset of an engineer by day while simultaneously prioritizing creativity by letting the left-brain roam free in the place I will forever call home – the dance studio!"
