Summer Intensives / Study Away Options

American Dance Festival 2021

This summer, ADF will celebrate dancing by utilizing the unique opportunity provided by learning in community, remotely. Limited scholarships are available for all programs, with a submission deadline of April 1.

  • Summer Dance Intensive highlights: Well, all of it, really! We’re excited to have ADF alumni Jordan D. Lloyd and jess pretty as new faculty members. And we are truly looking forward to the cumulative performance of Erica Gionfriddo and Eliot Gray Fisher’s In the Ether repertory project, which embodies the digital world in an entirely new way.
  • Dance Professional Workshop highlights: Community. We look forward to bringing educators together to dance joyously in Gerri’s and other guest faculty classes, while communing about all that weighs and lifts our hearts: teaching! Live music by John Hanks!
Other Summer Dance Intensives (that may not count towards your Duke credits):

Duke in New York Arts Program

Through the Duke in New York Arts Program, students may spend the fall semester of their junior or senior year studying the arts in New York City.

Dance and Study Abroad

Dance Majors and Minors may be able to take classes that count towards their requirements while studying abroad. Please contact the Global Education for Undergraduates office about the inclusion of dance classes in other study abroad programs, as they may change from year to year.
