Ballet Ashani presents the world premiere of Giovanni's Room, a contemporary ballet adaptation of James Baldwin's novel. Iyun Ashani Harrison's (artistic director & choreographer) riveting theatrical translation brings Baldwin's captivating, campy characters to life, reimagining them in present-day Paris.
The production features an all-star cast of international ballet dancers, music by Maurice Ravel, and original compositions by Durham-based visual artist William Paul Thomas, Boston-based digital music composer Aaron Brown, and Durham-based lighting designer James Clotfelter.
