Dance MFA candidate Chania Wilson presents THERE IS A LADDER, a curated installation in the Rubenstein Arts Center in conjunction with a performance in von der Heyden Theater. Wilson has choreographed a piece for six dancers, all with different experiences in identity-centered modern dance performance and pedagogy. The choreographic work incorporates performance, film, and archival research, aiming to carve new space for Black women's narratives in modern dance. This event is in partial fulfillment of Wilson's requirements for the degree of MFA in Dance: Embodied Interdisciplinary Praxis in the Graduate School of Duke University.
