Dance MFA candidate, Natalia Cervantes, warmly invites you to welding borderlands | soldando las tierras fronterizas, a community journey comprised of four layers: a migration, an immersive installation, a sharing of welding, and a celebration. welding is a layered practice that physicalizes seemingly intangible borderlands, or third/in-between spaces, through the body in motion to make them more accessible to process. The borderlands of focus are between bodies, materials, generations, memories, and more.
Pickup: Meet at the Greenway Transit bus in the Lakewood Shopping Center parking lot. Pickup times at 4pm and 4:45pm. Audience will travel by bus together to the main venue (El Centro Hispano/The Freedman Center). Bus ride required for main venue entry. Una candidata de la Maestría en Bellas Artes en Danza, Natalia Cervantes, invita cálidamente a welding borderlands | soldando las tierras fronterizas, un camino comunitario compuesto por cuatro capas: una migración, una instalación inmersiva, una compartición de welding y una celebración. welding es una práctica en capas que materializa las aparentemente intangibles tierras fronterizas, o espacios de tercer/entre-lugar, a través del cuerpo en movimiento, para hacerlas más accesibles y procesables. Las tierras fronterizas en las que nos enfocamos son las que existen entre cuerpos, materiales, generaciones, memorias y más. Recogida: Reúnase en el autobús Greenway Transit en el estacionamiento de Lakewood Shopping Center. Los horarios de recogida son a las 4pm y 4:45pm. La audiencia viajará junta en el autobús hasta el lugar principal (El Centro Hispano/El Centro Freedman). El viaje en autobús es necesario para ingresar al lugar principal. Regreso: El autobús regresará a la audiencia al estacionamiento de Lakewood Shopping Center al final del evento.
