Dancer/choreographer/filmmaker/teacher, Juel D. Lane has danced with Ronald K. Brown-Evidence Dance Company, Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, Soulowork’s Andrea E. Woods and Dancers, and currently with Helen Simoneau and Camille A. Brown & Dancers in New York City. I addition he is adjunct faculty at University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Juel has perform with distinguished choreographers such as: Mabel Robinson, Bridget L. Moore, Panadtro Harris, and Duane Cyrus. He has appeared on The Monique Show, dancing and choreographing for former member of Danity Kane, “D. Woods.” Juel was one of the featured choreographers for Atlanta’s concert Dance Canvas 2009 under the direction of Angela Harris and Lift 2010 under the direction of Daryl Foster. Jasmine Guy selected him to be dance captain for the musical I DREAM in Atlanta, Ga. His flexible prowess is showcased in the online photo gallery of New York City photographer Matt Karas and Atlanta photographer Richard Calmes, making him a sought after model for dance photographers. In 2010-2011, Juel collaborated with Ursula Kendall Johnson on various interdisciplinary projects with 2 Kids And Dream Productions. He made his directorial debut with Just Another Day, a dance for film project with cinematographer Eric Sherertz, and won October 2010 Dance Magazine video of the month. Juel will premiere new choreographic work, Moments of Dis, with The Atlanta Ballet in March 2012. He has received rave reviews for courageously exposing ideologies, taboos, and myths concerning life’s topics such as homosexuality, love, hurt, and simply being a human being.
